I just think it depends. I was divorce after over 20 years. The day the divorce was finalized, I thought I would be devastated. Instead I walked out of the courtroom like the weight of the world had been lifted from my shoulders and I was able to move on quickly and completely.

However, living with my X for over 20 years made it really easy.
References :
I agree, a woman can get all caught up in the "I'm not taking his sh*t anymore", then later on she can think, "maybe I wasn't thinking clearly at the time..maybe we could've worked it out". And I guy is probably going to think about it more clearly from the beginning. Wondering why it failed, where it went wrong, then he accepts it and moves on. Women tend to think "what if...", thats when its harder to move on.
References :
I disagree on certain aspects of your opinion! I think that the man gets on faster in the part physically, I think it's alot easier for a man to have a sexual relationship with another woman alot sooner(most the time while still married or in a relationship) than a woman can!! Woman tend to have alot more emotion involved, and need that emotional commitment or connection, if you will, to actually BE with another man. Whether it's after a divorce or while single!! Woman also have a lower percentage of cheating on their significate other!! I think the only thing to alot of men hard after their divorce or break-up, is dealing with the thought that they cannot posses them any longer, and their pride and ego cause them to be jealous which to a woman who has low self esteem, it would seem to be a act of love or careing, and then once the man is over it, the woman ends of hurt because of those thoughts or hopes that there might be hope it'll work.
References :
I think the begininng of the break up is harddest on the women and the beginning of the break up is the easiest for a man. Women feel the sadness, men feel their pride. So they won't adm,it or feel anything until they really know it is over. I think
References :
Depends on the person but I think after a break up many women feel that they werent "wanted" badly enough and need to move on to prove to themselves that someone IS interested in them and women need attention. They need to feel loved.
References :
it's not cut & dried like that one way or the other...some couples one will get over it quicker, some the other. depends on how invested each was in the relationship.
References :
it's all in me head - it's all in me head

Whoever reads Creative Divorce, Stop, You're Driving Me Crazy, The Divorce Handbook, and also, whoever gets into support groups, usually at a church or Y for separated and single parents. You have to know you'll be OK. It took me also to go into some therapy and realize my ex was terrible to me, and that I'd be far better off without her.

That turned out to be a God-send. I haven't spoken one word, not one, to my ex in over 15 years. Only spoke directly to my now grown kids.
